While playing college baseball at Auburn and professionally with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bryan Woodall had been involved in MTAG projects near his hometown in Georgia. In 2016, Woodall took the opportunity to pitch in Taiwan in the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Soon after, he wanted to connect the MTAG mission to his new home, starting the relationship with the Fubon Guardians in New Taipei City.
FIRST PROJECT: 2018
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: $25k in Equipment Donation, Multiple Clinics, Collaboration with Fubon
GOAL: Spread the game of baseball, and create opportunities for exposure and exchange for the country’s youth.
Partnership with the Fubon Guardians
More Than A Game and Bryan Woodall of the Fubon Guardians united to donate equipment and provide instruction to remote areas of Taiwan. The group arrived in New Taipei and held a clinic in the Fubon Guardians stadium. Over the week, the MTAG group and Fubon translators made a counter-clockwise lap of the island, helping out local clubs along the way.
